UAR

Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) launches its free 3D architecture app for smartphones called UAR (Urban Augmented Reality). You can see and experience the built environment of the past, present and future, via Layar Browser.

UAR is the world’s first mobile architecture application featuring augmented reality with 3D models. UAR provides information on architecture using text, images, archive material and film. A special feature of this application is that it allows you to view numerous locations in the city and see in 3D how it will be, how it was or how it could have been. Rotterdam is the first city in the world that is available in UAR. The NAI has set itself a challenge: to make the Netherlands the first country in the world to have its entire architecture viewable on smartphones thanks to augmented reality.
